This is a most attractive Sheraton revival occasional table.
It is made in Mahogany with Satinwood marquetry, and overlaid with additional painted detail.
These tables were feature pieces of furniture, often well decorated and intended to make a statement.
They could take a small urn, and the pull out tray would stand a cup under the tap for dispensing tea.
Oval in form, the 4 tapered legs are united by marquetry decorated cross stretchers and there are brass collars to the top of each of the legs and round brass ‘caddy feet’ to the toes, all of which are original.
